Happy Holidays!

Hello Everyone,

On Sunday morning, Dec 1st, we woke up to a lake that was frozen over!! A cold night and still water enabled it to freeze. I wasn’t sure the ice would stick around but it has. Temps were chilly enough in the coming nights to give it a base. We had some rain and warmer temps earlier this week which created some puddles and open water in the middle. Cold temperatures have prevailed the last 2 days so all is frozen over again. I think we can declare Ice In. Certainly it is not thick enough for winter activities yet, but it won’t be long before the fishermen, snowmobilers, ice skaters, etc will be enjoying our lake with all it has to offer for the winter. Check out the web cam to get a peek at what’s happening.

Christmas and Hanukkah are less than 2 weeks away. I’m sure you are all busy with the hustle and bustle the holidays bring. If you are in need of a last minute gift, don’t forget the WLA calendar is still for sale at http://www.createphotocalendars.com. Click on the Shop button and type in WLA. All your options should appear. We have had some good sales to date. Thank you to all of you who have supported this fundraising effort. Enjoy those photos of the lake until you can get back to your little piece of paradise!

Another activity going on that will put you in the holiday spirit is the Franklin Opera House’s, Festival of Trees. Over 30 donated trees, gift baskets and wreaths are on display and will be raffled off on Sunday. The event is open Friday night, all day Saturday, and Sunday afternoon. The Franklin Footlight theater is performing “A Gift to Remember” Friday and Saturday night, as well as Sunday afternoon. The Webster Lake Association donated a tree with a $100 gift card to Hannaford, as well as some other gifts under the tree. See attached photo. For more information go to http://www.franklinoperahouse.org.

Lastly, I want to wish all of you a very Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah and a Happy New Year! May you have many warm memories created with family and friends as we celebrate this wonderful time of the year. Here is hoping that 2020 brings everyone good health and happiness with thoughts of returning to Webster Lake!

Sincerely,
Val
