Spring Announcements – 2025

The weather is perfect today at Webster Lake, and whether you are here or arriving later in the summer, know that WLA is working to maintain Webster Lake!

By now you should have received the Spring 2025 Newsletter and membership form. Many of you have already sent in your checks and updates, for which we are thankful.

Special thanks to Mark Field who designs our Newsletter, and to John Miller and Nancy Wolcott who keep track of payments and membership enrollment.

Announcements

The Boat Parade will be held on Saturday, July 5th (rain date Sunday, July 6th)
Boats should meet at 2:30pm at Griffin Beach – the pattern is counter-clockwise this year
Feel free to decorate your boats as you please-reverting to earlier practice, there is no contest this year

The Annual Yard Sale will be Saturday, July 19th – more details will be sent at a later date

Milfoil Remediation on Chance Pond will take place early this summer. We have a grant from the state which we are matching with WLA funds to pay for this operation. Please avoid any watercraft traffic between the bridge and the dam, as we are working to remove this invasive plant.
Special thanks to Board Members Shawna Pinnette and Bonnie Moore for their work in securing this grant and supervising the work.

Lake Hosts are at the boat launch on weekends through Labor Day to inspect and educate boaters about invasive plants and the prevention of their spread. Please thank these folks when you see them- the program has caught several noxious invasives before they were brought in to Webster Lake.
Special thanks to Linda Stronge, who coordinates this program for WLA-NH.

If you are planning to buy or sell a property that is within 250 of Webster Lake, please be aware of new state regulations that mandate inspection and possible repair of septic systems. Boating Safety The July 4th weekend is often our busiest in terms of boat traffic, and many less-experienced boaters are enjoying the lake. Please remember:

  • All vessels (including water-jets, kayaks, and stand-up boards) are required to have a Personal Flotation Device for each passenger
  • Children 12 and under must wear a PFD at all times on a boat
  • NH requires that those in control of a motor vessel have a license to operate
  • All motorboats must have BLUE NH stickers; out of state boats will need a round sticker, in-state boats need both square and round stickers affixed to both sides of the boat
  • Marine Patrol is a division of the State Police; if you are boating while intoxicated, you may lose both your boating and highway license
  • Motored vessels must give way to unpowered craft-sail boats, kayaks, paddle boards, etc

Please enjoy the lake safely!

Looking forward to a wonderful summer with friends and Members!
