4th of July – 2026

Good afternoon WLA members!

The weather at the lake is good for the aquifer, but not so much fun for anything else…
Several important notes-

  1. This Saturday, June 20th, is HAZARDOUS WASTE DISPOSAL DAY in Franklin. The times are 8:30am-noon at 43 Bow Street (Fire Station).
This is different than the town website states, but a phone call to the waste transfer station confirmed this date and time!
If you have not participated before, you are in for a pleasant surprise. Load your items in need of disposal into the trunk of your car and drive to the area; volunteers will take the material from your car and sort it appropriately. This is a once a year event, so don’t miss it!
  2. Yard Sale Volunteers Needed
Thank you again for all you did last year to make the Yard Sale so successful! Bringing donations, taking a shift, inviting friends, publicizing the event, buying treasures – the Yard Sale is a successful fundraiser for the WLA because of you! It’s time to start clearing out/saving items to bring to the sale, and ask friends and neighbors to do the same!

Can I count on you to join me this year? The sale will be Saturday, 7/18, and set up the afternoon before, Friday, 7/17.

Please RSVP to djackson21@aol.com by June 30 and let me know if you anticipate volunteering this year (even if you’re not sure of your availability). Would you identify which day/shift you can join me? The volunteer shifts are listed at the end of this message; please include your cell phone # as well as email in your reply
