Hello Everyone,
The first day of Spring is right around the corner, however winter forecasts are still coming our way! Pretty topsy- turvy weather. With the ice being 2- 2 1/2 feet thick still in the middle, I don’t think we will be having ice out any time soon, but I will keep you posted. You can always check out the web cam on our WLA website, http://www.websterlakenh.com/lake-cam.
I received an application to participate in the Choose Franklin Community Day to be held on Saturday, May 14th from 10:00am – 2:00pm. This could be a nice opportunity to do a community outreach program called Watershed Warrior that is sponsored by NH Lakes. The attached link will give you more information regarding the program. The Choose Franklin Community Day is an event that showcases businesses, non profits, and crafters in the area. The board agreed that the Watershed Warrior program could be beneficial for educating children and adults about keeping our lake healthy. Volunteers would be needed to help man the 10×10 booth that would be set up for this event. If you will be around on that Saturday, May 14th, and would like to volunteer to help with this event, please let me know. https://nhlakes.org/watershed-warrior/
As we continue to think about Spring and opening up your cottages, the recent NH Lakes Webinar about “Septic Systems and Our Lakes” may be of interest to you. Remember Spring and Fall are good times to assess your septic system. This link will take you to their webinar page https://nhlakes.org/explore-lakes-webinars/.
I hope you are all doing well and look forward to the lake coming to life again for Spring and Summer activities.
Take care,
Val
