Hi Everyone,
It was a great weekend for WLA activities. Today’s boat parade had a good turnout considering it was being held on the rain date. Thank you to everyone who participated and displayed your love of music and our country. Thank you again to Mark Lorenze and his crew, Stephen, Pete, Sherri, Sarah and Vinnie for their great work at the Breakfast on the Beach Saturday. Our next event is the WLA Yard sale next Saturday. Laurie Salame will be heading that group. Please read the following message from her seeking volunteers for this event. These events are not possible without the help of our members who volunteer. Please join us in keeping these events successful.
We hope you have the WLA Yard sale on your calendar for Saturday, 7/13, 9-3, at 65 Webster Lake Road (empty lot with the Rowell’s sign on Route 11). Last year was a a busy, fun, and successful day.
In order to make this year as successful, we need you to help in 4 ways:
1. VOLUNTEER!
We are looking for volunteers on Friday, 7/12, 3-6 pm-ish (set up, receive goods, a couple strong people with trucks really needed) and Saturday, 7/13, 8:30am-4pm (open up, sell, clean up). If there is any time during those periods you can help, please let us know. It will be a very busy day and we really need your help. You can either email lsalame@isenberg.umass.edu or call Laurie or Karen 934-6090.
2. DONATE!
We are looking for your gently used items to sell. Keep in mind we do not accept clothing or television sets. Our first preference is to accept donations on Friday 3-6 at the site. Second preference would be 8-9 Saturday morning. As a last resort, if you are not available during those times, but have good quality goods to donate, you can email/call Laurie or Karen to figure out some options. If you have large items and need a hand with them, or if you have something and are not sure it is appropriate, again, please email/call Karen or Laurie.
3. SPREAD THE WORD!
Tell folks you know in the area about the sale! Share it on your FB and other social media—feel free to include the attached picture!
4. COME BUY STUFF!
One person’s trash is another person’s treasure!
