Yard Sale and Upcoming Events

Hello Everyone,

We had a very successful yard sale over the weekend, netting a profit of just over $2000! Thank you to Laurie Salame and her sister Karen for taking charge of this event. We also had a very good crew of trucks, trailers and hands that helped set up on Friday afternoon. Saturday morning was quite busy and the volunteers helping with sales were much appreciated. It has been a busy couple weeks with events and volunteers have made these events successful. The core group of people heading these events are always looking for new helpers, so if you would like to volunteer your time on one of these events next year or if you have another activity you’d like to see happen, please feel free to let me know. We would love to have committees set up for each of these events.

The next event will be our Annual Meeting on Saturday, August 3rd. I am very excited to announce that Mark Lorenze has been awarded the John Morten Award from NH Lakes. This is quite an honor, and well deserved, for Mark and the WLA. Mark will be honored at the Annual Meeting and I invite all of you to come and give your congratulations to Mark. This award is given in memory of John Morten who gave generously of his time, talents and financial resources to help protect NH lakes and ponds he loved so much. This award has been given since 2002 as a tribute to the exemplary lake stewardship he showed. The board has nominated Mark in the past for this award and thought it was worth submitting his name again this year. It was wonderful news to hear 2019 is the year for Mark Lorenze to be recognized for his exemplary stewardship of Webster Lake. Our meeting will be held in the conference room of the Franklin Public Library. Coffee will be at 9:00am. The meeting will start at 9:30am. NH Lakes Vice President, Andrea Lamoreaux will be presenting Mark his award. Mark your calendars and I hope to see you there.

A new web cam has also been installed on Mark Field’s property and is close to being “live”. I know a lot of you have missed seeing those live shots of the lake, when you are not here. I will let you know when the web cam has been connected to the web site. Thanks for your patience.

Hard to believe it is mid July already. Keep these warm summer days coming while we are all at the lake to enjoy!
Thank you again to all our WLA volunteers,

Val
